Glengarry has three trails recognised by Ride , South Africa's leading cycling magazine.
There are, of course, plenty of other scenic, easy-riding routes, for the "Roadies".
Maps are available from the office.
The GREEN trail is a recommended family ride which covers
13 km of fairly flat going through the farmlands of the Mount Erskine Valley and across the Little Mooi River. It has one short rugged ascent.
The RED trail, covering 45 kms starts with a good climb to new plantation roads, for 12 kms, then a fast downhill back to 5000 ft. The next 25 kms follow farm tracks past trout dams.
The ride finishes with a downhill track to challenge the daredevils.
Be warned - some of these uphills require a fair level of fitness.
The BLACK trail takes one for approx. 50 kms on tracks through rivers, up hills and with some steep downhill sections.
